All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

Anne Wilferth and Bailey Manley each had five kills as the Central girls volleyball team defeated Puxico 25-23, 25-21 on the road Monday to record its first win of the season.

The Tigers improved to 1-2 under first-year coach Jessica Sostillio.

"It feels great," Sostillio said about the victory. "We played defense and were able to play the ball back over the court. Our defense really stepped up tonight."

Kassidy Gowan led the defensive effort with 19 digs, while Matlyne Scott finished with 17. Brianna Guzman also posted a team-high three blocks.

Kassidy Pannier dished out 17 assists.

Central will host Dexter tonight.

JV -- Puxico won 25-13, 25-23

Oran 25 25 Oak Ridge 20 23

Oak Ridge remained winless on the season with a two-set loss at home.

Jessica Hahs had four aces and three kills for the Blue Jays (0-4), while Madison LeGrand had four kills.

JV -- Oak Ridge won 14-25, 25-22, 25-18

Fredericktown 25 25 Scott City 7 16

Kaileigh Dirden had four blocks in the Rams' two-set loss on the road.

Chloe Raines led the defense with seven digs and added five assists and one ace.

JV -- Fredericktown won 2-1

BASEBALL Oran 12, Puxico 0

Winning pitcher Drew Reischman had a double and a triple among his three hits and drove in four runs as the Eagles scored in all but one inning in a rout on the road.

Denver Elfrink added a double among his two hits. Tanner McVay and Preston Hahn each added a double for the Eagles.

Reischman allowed two hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Notre Dame 9, Arcadia Valley 0

The Bulldogs dropped just two games in the entire match in a dominating sweep of visiting Arcadia Valley.

Grace Powderly, Katie Strange, Taylor Kohlfeld and Julia Kohlfeld all posted 8-0 wins in singles play. All three doubles teams won 8-0.

Notre Dame improved to 4-1.
