Coverage needs a kick

WHY IS there so little coverage of Central soccer? There are impressive athletes on the team. Central has beaten two state-ranked teams (ranked by mosports.com), lost in double overtime to Quincy Notre Dame; beat Columbia Hickman; and had four players participate on a team playing in the nationals in North Carolina that made it to the final four in the nation. I could go on, but I have a feeling it would not make a lot of difference.

Come see the big one

I HOPE everybody will come out in force to see the Indians when they host Eastern Illinois for the homecoming game. Everybody's complained around town for so long that we didn't have a winning football team. Well, now we have one, so now's the time to get off the couch and come see the biggest game of the year.

Just wait, Notre Dame

AS A volleyball fan who has followed the sport closely, I cannot figure out how Notre Dame can be ranked ahead of Leopold in the rankings. We will find out soon just how overrated they are when Leopold and Notre Dame go head to head.

Give Em a chance

I THINK that it is time for coach Billings to give Emmendorfer a chance at field goals.

Off the bandwagon

I WENT to several garage sales and I've never seen such a rush to dump Rams hats, shirts and collectibles at giveaway prices. Of course, if you're the sleaziest team in the NFL, that's what happens. And it couldn't happen to a better group of overpaid, bragging, prima donnas, including their arrogant coach. From first to worst. How sweet it is. The Rams have long contracts with their stars and this will keep them in the basement for many years to come.

IT LOOKS like the Rams are finally coming back down to earth. And boy what a hard crash this has been.

Emotion doesn't win

I'M TIRED of hearing how the Cardinals are so deserving and destined to win the World Series because they faced adversity this season. Does that mean that a person who faces less-than-ideal situations is destined to win the lottery?

We were supportive

TO THE person who called in and said the Tigers' fans were not very supportive at the North County game and you talked about us not being on our feet. I don't know where you were sitting or what group you were watching, but you missed a whole bunch of us up on our feet during both of our overtimes. We were up on our feet most of the game, as a matter of fact, cheering and yelling. And to compare us to the North County fans was an insult. Did you happen to notice that when the score was tied 21-21 long before double overtime, all of their band members got up and left? They left and didn't come back. A lot of other fans left when it was tied 21-21 before it even got into overtime. Please don't compare us to a bunch of fans that don't even stick around.

AFTER A review, I've determined that Mizzou has the ugliest uniforms in football.

Stupid, but motivating

A BIG thanks to the idiotic DJ at Phoenix. He assured the Cardinals of a win. Many times idiotic fans and comments really fire a team up and make them want revenge. This idiot did that, so goodbye, Arizona.

I could've gone to bed

I SAT up until 10:30 to watch the sports news. They promised to show highlights of the Cardinals clinching the pennant but sure enough, not a word. What's happened to KFVS anyway?
