Blake Essner threw a five-inning no-hitter Wednesday to lead Notre Dame in a 27-0 road rout at Chaffee.
Essner struck out 11 and walked two in what coach Jeff Graviett said is the only Notre Dame no-hitter he can recall in his six years as coach.
Aaron Jenkins had four hits and four RBIs to lead Notre Dame's 16-hit attack. Jacob Essner, Blake Essner and Mitch Glueck had two hits apiece. Lucas Dirnberger added a grand slam.

Notre Dame and host Poplar Bluff were halted in a tie when lightning struck 5 minutes into the first overtime period.

Jackson eased by visiting Hillsboro in a game that lasted only one half due to lightning.
Molly Hartmann had two goals for the Indians (3-0). Leslie Gordon had a goal and an assist, and Hannah Kohm had a goal and two assists. Kylie Werner recorded her second shutout.
