Kelsy Holloway came on in relief of Central starter Sirena Watkins after two batters and held Jackson to just two hits in Central's 5-2 home victory Wednesday.

Central snapped a four-game losing streak to improve to 2-4. Holloway struck out eight, walked three and allowed one unearned run.

Watkins had three hits and an RBI to pace Central's eight-hit attack.

Darla Mangles took the loss for Jackson (1-2).

Delta 10, Egyptian, Ill. 0

Kayla Seabaugh allowed a leadoff hit and then went on to pitch five hitless innings after that in Delta's home opener.

Seabaugh hit one batter, walked two and struck out nine.

She also had two hits and drove in a run. Shea Smith was 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Jodi Menz was 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI.

Notre Dame took the tiebreaker to beat Benton, Ill., for the girls title in the six-team meet.

Both teams had 82 points, while Notre Dame's sixth-place finisher, Claire Edwards, came across before Benton's No. 6.

Brooke Heischmidt finished 10th in 24 minutes, 38 seconds to lead the Bulldogs.

On the boys side, Notre Dame placed second out of 11 teams for the fourth straight year. Sparta, Ill., won with 59 points, while the Bulldogs compiled 70.

Greg Kanneberg finished eighth at 18:07. Matt Pfau was 10th at 18:34.
