The Cape Girardeau Sr. Babe Ruth Yankees managed only seven hits total in two games, but they still came away with a doubleheader sweep over the Cape White Sox.
The Yankees won the first game 4-2, then finished off the twinbill with a 4-1 victory.
In the first game, Adam Ralls picked up the win. He allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six.
Jacob Roth provided a two-run double.
In the nightcap, Jess McGregor picked up a complete game, five-inning victory. He allowed one run on three hits and no walks while striking out six.
The Yankees (22-3) got a two-run triple from Jess McGregor.
The Yankees, who clinched a spot in the state tournament last weekend, will play in a six-team Firecracker Classic today. They will play New Madrid at Notre Dame High School at 5:45 p.m. At the same time at Cape Central High's field, the White Sox will play Dexter. The Yankees and White Sox will play again tonight at 10:15 at Capaha Field.
