CAPE JR. LEGION SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER

The Cape Girardeau junior legion baseball team split a doubleheader at home against Anna-Jonesboro Wednesday.

It won the first game 4-2, then fell 2-1 in the nightcap.

In the first game, Jason Gibson threw a complete game for the win, allowing two earned runs on eight hits and a walk. He struck out five.

Adam Ralls had two hits and two runs batted in.

Ralls also had two hits in the nightcap and he drove in Cape's only run as his team saw its record fall to 10-15 on the season.

Trenton Estes suffered the loss in the second game. He went five innings and gave up two runs, both earned, on six hits and two walks while striking out two.
