In the battle between Central and Central, the Cape Tigers came back to prevail over Park Hills 48-41 on Friday in Park Hills, Mo.

Carter Armstrong only caught two passes, but both receptions led to touchdowns for a total of 106 yards. The first touchdown went for 64 yards to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, while the second score went for 42 yards to help Central retake the lead at 24-19. It was quite the breakout game for the junior, who entered the contest with only 24 yards on three receptions.

Running back KeyShawn Boyd led the Tigers with 219 rushing yards on 18 carries and four touchdowns. His longest run went for 60 yards in the fourth quarter. He also scored on a 45-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Boyd now has 775 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the season.

The Tigers won their third game of the year despite being out-gained 528-428. The Rebels had more passing yards 302-185, but the Tigers had more rushing yards 243-226.

Jathan Spain continues to settle into the role as Tigers quarterback in place of the injured Deklin Pittman. So far this season, the sophomore has completed 25 of 63 passes for 469 yards and three touchdowns against three interceptions.

The Tigers (2-2) will take on rival Jackson on the road Friday, Sept. 22.
