BRIEFLY: SCORPIONS RUGBY SQUAD CRUSHES PADUCAH

The Kohlfeld Scorpions Rugby Club totally dominated the Paducah (Ky.) Flood last Saturday during an 85-5 blowout that featured a season-high point total by the Scorpions.

Among the numerous scores by the Scorpions was Tim Croker's first-ever try.

Said coach Tim Joplin, "We generally beat Paducah, but not usually by this margin. In rugby, there is no such thing as running up the score. If we score a lot of points, it's the other team's fault for not being prepared to play the game. We ran the same plays and used the same strategy as always; they just couldn't stop us."

The Scorpions' season finale against the Memphis City Rugby Club is Saturday at Arena Park on Hawthorne Road.
