Zexia "Zeke" Sietman, 87, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at her home.

Born March 6, 1933, in Oran, Missouri, to the late Lacey and Idus Ellen Edwards Bernard, Zeke married Clyde "Slats' Bernard Sietman on Oct. 19, 1951, who passed away May 25, 2020.

A lifelong resident of Oran, she was an active member of the community, serving on the City Council, Rental Housing Board and Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church. In 1980, she was honored as Oran Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year.

Zeke's many interests included a love for weekend fishing trips, feeding and watching birds (keeping a life-list of bird species), sewing, reading detective and spy mystery novels, and vegetable gardening — especially tomatoes. Always generous and thoughtful, Zeke contributed regularly to favorite charities, and her many friends and family enjoyed frequent handwritten letters and cards on countless occasions, holidays and birthdays without fail.
