SIKESTON - Sikeston resident Zettie Lee Thomann died at her residence Saturday, Dec. 15, 1990. She was 86. She was born May 16, 1904 in Holcomb, the daughter of the late Arley and Sally Harp Coleman. She was a member of the House of Prayer General Baptist Church in Grant City, and formerly sang with the Thomann Gospel Singers. Also, she served as a church pianist for many years...

SIKESTON - Sikeston resident Zettie Lee Thomann died at her residence Saturday, Dec. 15, 1990. She was 86.

She was born May 16, 1904 in Holcomb, the daughter of the late Arley and Sally Harp Coleman.

She was a member of the House of Prayer General Baptist Church in Grant City, and formerly sang with the Thomann Gospel Singers. Also, she served as a church pianist for many years.

She was first married to James Qualls on March 5, 1928. He died March 20, 1975.

On March 17, 1979, she married Irvin M. Thomann, who died April 29, 1984.

Among her survivors are five sons, all with the last name of Qualls. They are Ira of Las Vegas; Raymond of Orlando, Fla.; Luther of Doniphan; James of Lincoln Park, Mich.; and Mirl of Holyroad, Kan.

Also surviving are one step-son, Carl Thomann of Sikeston, and six daughters: Florence Hutchison of Heber Springs, Ark.; Lucille Vaden, Mildred Burnes, and Melba Graham, all of Sikeston; Mary Holder of Monroe, Ga.; and Frances Brashear of Paducah, Ky.

In addition, 82 grandchildren, 140 great-grandchildren, and 42 great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Preceding her in death were four sons, four daughters, one brother, and four half-brothers.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston after 4 p.m. today. Services will be conducted at the chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Raymond Myrick of Matthews will preside.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. at the Gregory Cemetery at Kennett.
