ZETTIE B. HAMPTON

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Mrs. Zettie Bell Hampton, 417 S. Fountain, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Thomas will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 6-9 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Hampton, 75 years old, died Monday, Feb. 25, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born May 25, 1915, in Brownsville, Tenn., son of Robert and Hattie Reed Owens Sr. She married Nathaniel Hampton in 1959 in Cape. He died in 1976. Mrs. Hampton was a member of New Bethel Church.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanetta Adams, Mintry and William Newburn of Cape; two brothers, Robert Owens Jr. of Brownsville, Roy Hampton of Henning, Tenn.; two sisters, Flossie Townsell of Bowling Green, Ky., Ora Bates of Decatur, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
