CAPE GIRARDEAU - A funeral service will be held Sunday for Zell P. White, who died Thursday, Dec. 13, 1990, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau. She was 88.
She was born Aug. 8, 1902, in Conway, Ark., the daughter of Charles and Mary Frances Johnson Payne.
She married Edwin White on June 12, 1925, in Memphis, Tenn. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1980.
Mrs. White had been a school teacher in Success, Ark. From 1936-1961, she and her husband lived in Arlington, Va., where he was with the U.S. State Department. She moved to Cape Girardeau from Union City, Tenn., in 1981.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Fannie White; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The body is at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, where the funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Charles Grant of First Presbyterian Church, where Mrs. White was a member, will officiate.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to the time of the service Sunday. On Monday, there will be a committal service at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Memphis, Tenn.
