CHARLESTON -- Zan Noisworthy, 78, of Charleston died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 7, 1922, at Gideon, son of Fred and Cannie Bell Miller Noisworthy. He and Thelma R. Griffin were married Feb. 14, 1970. She died Sept. 16, 1991.
A lifelong resident of Charleston, he was a self-employed painting contractor. He attended Elm Street Baptist Church.
Noisworthy served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Darron Noisworthy of East Prairie, Danny Noisworthy of Pembroke, Ky., Steven Noisworthy of Charleston; two stepsons, Gary Wilson of East Prairie, Robert Wilson of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Joyce Helms of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a twin brother, Van Noisworthy of Charleston; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jon Archie officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
