BERTRAND -- Yewell Taylor Sr., 81, of Bertrand, died Friday, May 6, 1994, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Aug. 22, 1912, at Biggers, Ark., son of John Lewis and Peggy Gamel Taylor.
He married Lucille Martin, Jan. 9, 1932.
Taylor was a cattleman for E.P. Coleman. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Sikeston.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Yewell Taylor Jr., Glenn Taylor, Larry Taylor and Richard Taylor, all of Bertrand, three daughters, Vera Black of Oran, Shirley Warren of Greenwood, Beverly Allred of Lone Jack; a brother, Chap Taylor of Pocahontas, Ark.; a sister, Edith Beard of West Plains; 23 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, two half-brothers, six sisters and a half-sister.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Pentecostal Church in Sikeston, with the Rev. Billie Butler officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
