MARION, Ill. -- Woodrow Victor Leidigh, 95, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at Parkway Manor in Marion. He was formerly of Cairo, Ill.
He was born Dec. 7, 1914, in Grand Chain, Ill., to Walter and Susie Fallenstein Leidigh. He and Anna Louise Newlon were married Nov. 29, 1944. She died Nov. 15, 1998.
Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca (Tim) Yancey of Makanda, Ill.; a son, Roger (Mary) Leidigh of LaGrange, Ill.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Mr. Leidigh was a security officer with Union Carbide until his retirement. He was involved in law enforcement more than 30 years. He was a Shriner and a Mason.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gentry Cemetery in Makanda for him and his wife Anna Louise.
Huffman-Harker Funeral Home in Carbondale, Ill., is assisting the family with arrangements.
