BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral for Woodrow DeJournett of Bloomfield will be held at 1 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter will officiate. Burial will be in Link Cemetery near Bloomfield.
DeJournett, 86, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehab Center in Bloomfield.
He was born Nov. 1, 1912, near Gray Ridge, son of Marshall and Mary Mae Annis DeJournett. He and Mary Irene Layton were married June 18, 1951, in Piggott, Ark. She died Nov. 26, 1992.
DeJournett was a retired farmer, and worked 12 years at Malden Air Base. He had resided at Bloomfield the past 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Blocker and Terry DeJournett of Bloomfield; two daughters, Sheila Griswell of Bloomfield, Mary Clifton of Whitewater; three brothers, Lloyd and Marvin DeJournett of Dexter, Wiley DeJournett of Bloomfield; a sister, Kathleen Givens of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers, and a sister.
