PUXICO, Mo. -- Woodrow Paul Crites, 81, of Puxico died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 30, 1921, at Greenbrier, Mo., son of Horace and Dovie Cato Crites. He and Pauline Woodfin were married June 9, 1942, at Bloomfield, Mo...

PUXICO, Mo. -- Woodrow Paul Crites, 81, of Puxico died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 30, 1921, at Greenbrier, Mo., son of Horace and Dovie Cato Crites. He and Pauline Woodfin were married June 9, 1942, at Bloomfield, Mo.

Woodrow was a farmer and timber worker all his life. He attended Sturdivant General Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob Crites of Advance, Mo.; a daughter, Debbie Richards of Advance; two brothers, Ernie Crites of Kinder, Mo., Junior Crites of Edwardsville, Ill.; five sisters, Norma Issac of Kinder, Vivian Haskell of Florissant, Mo., Aszella Lemons and Ilean Welch of Alton, Ill., Emma Price of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Rodney Crites of Jackson, Robin Minton and Crystal Richards of Advance; three great-grandchildren, Missy Minton of Advance, Amber Crites and Chelsea Crites of Jackson.

A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Placher officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
