JACKSON -- Wise Overbeck, 85, of Jackson, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1991, at Deal Nursing Home, where he had resided eight years.

He was born May 19, 1906, near Burfordville, son of C. Albert and Bessie Wise Overbeck. He and Vera Grebe were married May 1, 1937, at Oak Ridge.

The Overbecks farmed near Millersville many years, moving to Jackson in October 1959. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and its Men's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Overbeck of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Reba Dow, Mable Yancey and Anna Adams of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
