SIKESTON, Mo. -- Winifred Meeks, 68, of Sikeston died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at North West Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born June 5, 1934, in Warrington, England, daughter of John and Rachel Hutcheson Alcock. She and Charles E. Meeks were married Jan. 14, 1954, in England.
Meeks formerly worked at Anchor Toy Factory. She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Charleston, Mo.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles Meeks of Mary Esther, Fla.; three daughters, Rachel Shoffner and Marjorie Wheeler of San Antonio, Lora Rushing of Wappapello, Mo.; four brothers, Eddie, Jack, Bob and Ron Alcock, all of Warrington; three sisters, Clara Downey and Iris Tichard of Warrington, Jeanne Meeks of Selma, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. The Rev. Bill Meeks will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
