Wilma L. Major, 75, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Anna, Illinois, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, at her home.
She was born April 5, 1941, in Coulterville, Illinois, to Loren and Edith (Jones) Hale. She married Elmer David Major on Oct. 25, 1957. He preceded her in death Oct. 18, 1996.
Wilma was a custodian at Southeast Missouri State University. She will be remembered as a fun-loving person with a great sense of humor that always seemed to sparkle.
She is survived by two sons, Mark (Barb) Major and Terry (Dawn) Major; two daughters, Susan (Kenny) Brown and Karen (Danny) Jaimet; her companion, Arlie Chronister; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother, Allen Hale.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeremy Clayton officiating. Interment will follow at Anna City Cemetery in Anna, Illinois.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Francis Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
