CHARLESTON -- Wilma "Bill" Dark Heckman, 74, of Charleston, died at her home Friday, April 24, 1998.
She was born Dec. 9, 1923, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Luther and Ivah DeWeese Schafer.
She managed the Bus Station Cafe and Delta Credit Bureau for a number of years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Charleston.
She married Charles E. Dark. He died Dec. 24, 1953. She married Henry L. "Gus" Heckman in 1959. He died Jan. 16, 1993.
Survivors include a son, Joe Dark of Charleston; a daughter, Susan Bruenderman of Charleston; a stepson, James Heckman of Waterville, Mass.; a brother, Donald Schafer of Fenton; three sisters, Juanita Neal of Jonesboro, Ark., Madra Henry of Cape Girardeau, and Jo Ann Landers of Downers Grove, Ill.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
