ST. MARY, Mo. -- Wilma D. Gettinger, 68, of St. Mary died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 10, 1938, at Zell, Mo., daughter of Anthony and Rachel Harter Heberlie. She and Gilbert Gettinger were married Nov. 29, 1958, in Perryville, Mo.
Gettinger had been a cook at Ste. Genevieve County Jail, and also a seamstress. She was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church at Brewer, Mo.
Survivors include three sons, Kevin and Wayne Gettinger of Ste. Genevieve, Bernie Gettinger of Festus, Mo.; two daughters, Tina Fortenberry of Cairo, Ill., Karen Gettinger of Ashville, N.C.; a sister, Mary Pfaff of Ste. Genevieve; a brother Dennis Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Parish prayers will be at 7 tonight. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the Savior Church, with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating. Burial will be in Christ the Savior Cemetery.
