PUXICO -- Funeral service for Wilma Cousins McGowen Curtis of Lowndes will be held at 11 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico. The Rev. Wiley McGhee will officiate, with burial in Rock Hill Cemetery near here.
Curtis, 78, died Thursday, July 4, 1996, at her home.
She was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Beebe, Ark., daughter of Sidney A. and Ora Agnes Clark. She and Leo W. Curtis were married Aug. 7, 1963.
Formerly of Oran and Bloomfield, she had lived in the Lowndes area 31 years.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Glenda Maple of Jackson, Nancy Lafferty of Roanoke, Va.; a stepson, Clarence Curtis of Oran; three stepdaughters, Juanita Smith of Russellville, Ark., Cleda Neal of Oran, Frieda DeWalski of Port Byron, Ill.; a brother, Raymond Cousins of Worthington, Minn.; a sister, Bertie Burke of Mountain Home, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren, and 15 great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, stepson, brother and sister.
