Wilma Jean Bartlett, 70, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at her home near Scott City.
She was born Feb. 3, 1945, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to the late Bly V. and Penny Boitnott Belk.
She graduated from Charleston High School in 1963 and the Office Training School in Cape Girardeau in 1964.
She worked at Southeast Missouri Hospital in the accounting department until her marriage to Kenneth Bartlett on Aug. 20, 1967, at New Bethel Baptist Church in rural Charleston, Missouri. They then moved to St. Charles, Missouri, but returned to Southeast Missouri in 1973. Her final residence was near Commerce, Missouri.
She worked as the Charleston Baptist Association secretary from April 1982 until April 2005. From 1999 to 2005, she served as the area coordinator for Operation Christmas Child. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church at Benton, Missouri, where she served as church clerk.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; a daughter, Angela (Tim) Mooney of Edmond, Oklahoma; a son, Paul (Amy) Bartlett of Blodgett, Missouri; a grandson, Ethan Mooney; granddaughters, Mollie and Lillie Bartlett; a sister, Faye Moxley of rural Charleston; and three brothers, Bill Belk of Winston, Oregon, Jim Belk of East Prairie, Missouri, and David Belk of Diehlstadt, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny Burcks of rural Charleston and Donald Burcks of Eldon, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery near Commerce.
