Wilma M. Barks, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.
She was born Aug. 3, 1916, at Fruitland, daughter of Otto and Caroline Loos Heider. She married Raymond Barks June 3, 1939, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. He died Jan. 3, 1997.
Barks worked four years at Southwestern Bell Telephone, and 30 years at Rust and Martin Drapery. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW Post 3838's Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, David Barks of Clarksville, Tenn.; three daughters, Carolyn Baron of Jackson, Brenda McClain of St. Peters, Mo., Margaret Austin of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Alma Propst of Clearwater, Fla., Hulda Garner of Belleview, Ill., Nora Franks of Hazelwood, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Doug Breite officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
