Willis Allen "Red" Sansoucie, 87, of Crystal City, Mo., passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Valles Mines, Mo., son of Minnie Courtway and Lawrence Sansoucie. Survivors include two sons, Tim Sansoucie and wife Karen of Festus, Mo., Thomas White and wife Pat of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Kathie Bunster and husband Louis of Jackson, Barbara Drury and husband Delray of Herculaneum, Mo., Laurie Manley and husband James of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Kimberly Chronister and husband Andrew, Jason Garms and wife Jennifer, Jaime Sansoucie and William Sansoucie; a great-grandson, Allen Jason Garms; and a sister, Dora Backer of Arnold, Mo.. ...

Willis Allen "Red" Sansoucie, 87, of Crystal City, Mo., passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at his home.

He was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Valles Mines, Mo., son of Minnie Courtway and Lawrence Sansoucie.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Sansoucie and wife Karen of Festus, Mo., Thomas White and wife Pat of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Kathie Bunster and husband Louis of Jackson, Barbara Drury and husband Delray of Herculaneum, Mo., Laurie Manley and husband James of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Kimberly Chronister and husband Andrew, Jason Garms and wife Jennifer, Jaime Sansoucie and William Sansoucie; a great-grandson, Allen Jason Garms; and a sister, Dora Backer of Arnold, Mo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Antoinette Naeger Sansoucie; second wife, Corinne Angeline "Nan" Linderer Sansoucie; third wife, Elizabeth Ann Zoellner White-Sansoucie; two sisters, Rose Smith and Sadie Mae Ketchum; three brothers, Ernest, John and Christopher Sansoucie; and a son-in-law, Michael Garms.

He served as an infantryman in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Willis was a retired educator with St. Louis County Technical School teaching auto body and other related courses. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, VFW Post 3777, Disabled American Veterans, and was a longtime volunteer with Ozark Food Pantry.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, officiated by the pastor, the Rev. Joseph Wormek. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City.

Memorials in his memory are preferred to Disabled American Veterans.
