MINER, Mo. -- Funeral for William M. "Willie" Wren of Miner Nursing Center will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

Wren, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born Dec. 8, 1911, at Portageville, Mo., son of John and Melvina Lonnis Wren.

Wren was a farm laborer.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a brother, Frank Wren of Missouri, and a sister, Ruby Frazier of Miner.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
