CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Willie D. "Jackie" Smith, 83, of Charleston died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at her home. She was born March 7, 1921, in Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of Daniel T. and Frances A. Dover. She and James Wesley Smith were married Jan. 3, 1946. He died Aug. 21, 1994...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Willie D. "Jackie" Smith, 83, of Charleston died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at her home.

She was born March 7, 1921, in Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of Daniel T. and Frances A. Dover. She and James Wesley Smith were married Jan. 3, 1946. He died Aug. 21, 1994.

Smith was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, James and Garry Smith of Charleston; two daughters, Ruby Shanks of Sikeston, Mo., Judy Whitehead of Charleston; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Daniel Bell officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
