Willie Charles Hammonds, 52, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 27, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Juy 23, 1956, at Catron, Mo., son of Lillian Wynne Hammonds.

Hammonds was a 1975 graduate of Central High School and participated in track and field. He attended Meramec Community College.

Survivors include two sons, HyKeem and Kadeem Hammonds; his mother; two brothers, Jerry and Ike Hammonds, all of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Aloise Fulks of Jefferson City, Mo., and Denise Watkins of Kennett, Mo.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time today at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
