CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Willie Lee Buttry, 91, of Charleston died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born April 18, 1910, in Kennett, Mo., son of Charles and Lena Buttry. He and Bessie Wyatt were married Sept. 7, 1940.
Buttry had been a carpenter and plumber, and was a member of First General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Charles and Tommy Buttry of Sikeston, Ray Buttry of Morehouse, Mo., Leroy Buttry of Pontiac, Mich., Billy and Larry Buttry of Charleston; three daughters, Bonnie Neal of Charleston, Gladys Cast of Alto Pass, Ill., Rosie Cornwell of Paducah, Ky.; a brother, Fred Buttry of Southport, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at First General Baptist Church from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Bill Meeks officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
