SCOTT CITY -- William Dale Woolsey, 67, of Hammond, Ind., died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at the veterans hospital in Chicago.

He was born March 26, 1930, in Granite City, Ill., son of Weaver Ora and Mary E. Catron Woolsey.

Woolsey had been a seaman on a cargo ship. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

Survivors include a son, D.D. Woolsey of Chicago; a brother, Ernest Woolsey of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and a sister, Margaret McFall of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lightner Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
