CAIRO, Ill. -- William W. White, 81, of Cairo died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 30, 1921, in Cairo, son of Ralph and Virgie Mathis White. He was married to Judy Chrestman, who died in 1999.
White was the former owner of the City Motel in Cairo and was a former building inspector and assistant city clerk for Cairo. He was a member of Cairo Elks Lodge 651, Cairo Lodge 237 AF&AM and Cairo Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Clay and Jimmy White, both of Cairo; two daughters, Suzy Holland of Cairo and Ellie Nixon of Mounds, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. Monday at the Cairo Baptist Church, followed by an Elks memorial service at 1 p.m.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Larry Potts officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
