William E. Walker III, 65, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2022. He was born March 18, 1957, to the late William E. Jr. and Evelyn M. Green Walker. William was a 1976 graduate of Cape Central High School and a 1981 graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology at Rolla with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. William Walker III

William E. Walker III, 65, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2022.

He was born March 18, 1957, to the late William E. Jr. and Evelyn M. Green Walker.

William was a 1976 graduate of Cape Central High School and a 1981 graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology at Rolla with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. In high school, he was a member of and excelled on the golf team. He most recently worked at Buzzi Unicem in Cape Girardeau.

William was a lifelong member of the Cape Girardeau Country Club, an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and a lover of the outdoors and of all animals. He had three dachshunds over his lifetime, each named Schnapps. He loved them all, but the last one, Schnapps No. 3 passed away a few years ago and was his favorite of the three.

Survivors include his neighbors and his friends from Cape Girardeau Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friend, Richard L. "Rick" Webb.

Funeral will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 8, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with Pastor Daniel Seabaugh officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date, when William will be laid to rest next to his parents at New Lorimier Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Missouri University of Science and Technology at Rolla, Saint Francis Hospital Foundation or SEMO Pets.
