PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- William H. "Bill" Voelker, 66, of Perryville died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born Sept. 16, 1943, in Perryville, son of the late Floyd George and Zelma Mary Behrle Voelker. He and Donna L. Rollet were married June 5, 1965.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Hank (Katrina) Voelker of Frohna, Mo.; stepfather, Earl Davis of Perryville; two granddaughters, Olivia and Emma Voelker; a sister, Norma Jean (David) Neumann of Florissant, Mo.; an aunt, Verna Gibbar; an uncle, Glen (Joan) Behrle, all of Perryville; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and many dear friends.
Mr. Voelker was employed with River Eagle Distributing Co. in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1263, American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4282, AmVets, Perryville Eagles and Elks Lodge.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. A Catholic and Knights of Columbus wake will be held at 7 tonight.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, Mo., with Monsignor Dennis Doerhoff and the Rev. Milton Ryan concelebrating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent Football Field Fence Fund or Concordia Trinity Lutheran School Playground Fund.
