NEW MADRID -- William Vaughn, 81, of New Madrid, formerly of East Prairie, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born April 15, 1913, in Dresden, Ky. He married Katie Lavern Carroll, who died Feb. 14, 1957.

Survivors include a son, Samuel Vaughn of Dover, Fla.; two daughters, Ida Cobb of Lilbourn, Kay Higgins of East Prairie; 16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, with the Rev. Burl Britt officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to service time.
