LEOPOLD -- William August Trankle, 45, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 19, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, son of Fred W. and Agnes Elfrink Trankle. He and Gloria Weyer were married Sept. 16, 1980, at Fort Leonard Wood.
Trankle was a truck driver with Professional Service Carrier.
He was a 1971 graduate of Leopold High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He served 18 years in the U.S. Army. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; his parents of Leopold; three brothers, Robert Trankle of Chaffee, David and Michael Trankle of Leopold; six sisters, Wilma Saputo and Mary Ellen VanderMierden of Leopold, Rose Trankle and Therese Kiger of St. Louis, Norma Trankle of Fort Leonard Wood, and Christine Burger of Carbondale, Ill.
Friends may call at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday. Parish prayers will be at 7, followed by the Knights of Columbus rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bill Huggins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
