SIKESTON -- William Turney Williams, 95, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1991, at his home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1895, in Ozark, Ark., son of William A. and Laura Williams. He first married Effie Fay Patrick Feb. 29, 1916, at Ozark. She died Sept. 21, 1966. He and Joe Esther Smotherton were married Jan. 31, 1970, in Pryor, Okla.
Williams was a pumper with Sinclair Oil Co. He moved here from Jenks, Okla., and was a member of First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Eastern Star, and Oklahoma Wildlife Federation.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Col. Burl Williams of Rapid City, S.D.; a stepson, Dr. Royal Eaton of St. Louis; two daughters, Jessie Knowlton and Betty Phillips of Jenks; a stepdaughter, Pauline Williams of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and daughter.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Ninde Funeral Chapel in Jenks. Burial will be in Bixby Cemetery in Bixby, Okla.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Home at Sikeston was in charge of local arrangements.
