ORAN, Mo.— William Arthur Swink, 83, of Diamondhead, Miss., died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in Collins, Miss. He was born April 22, 1925, in Oran, son of William Arthur and Lois Alene Wescoat Swink. ORAN, Mo.— William Arthur Swink, 83, of Diamondhead, Miss., died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in Collins, Miss.

He was born April 22, 1925, in Oran, son of William Arthur and Lois Alene Wescoat Swink.

Swink attended schools in Farmington, Mo., and Cape Girardeau. He received a bachelor of science degree in business from Southeast Missouri State University.

He served in World War II as a radioman and top turret gunner in Navy VPB-117 Bombing Squadron, stationed in the Philippines.

Swink was a resident of Diamondhead since 1987 where he enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Emmy Lynn Tenkhoff Swink; a daughter, Elizabeth Leigh Potts and husband Joe of Metairie, La.; a son, William Dewey Swink and wife Barbara of Loranger, La.; three grandchildren, Brian Michael Brignac and Brandi Michelle Brignac of Metairie and Tosha Adele Swink of Hammond, La.

He is also survived by a great-stepgranddaughter, Jordan Elizabeth Kauzlarich of Slidell, La.; a great-grandson, Briggs-Lucien William Fuselier of Metairie; a brother, Robert Edwin Swink and wife Candace of Virginia Beach, Va.; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, Miss.

Friends may visit from noon to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Biloxi National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association or to one's favorite charity.
