William Albert Siebert, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Wednesday, Sept, 29, 1920, in Whitewater, Mo., son of Albert E. and Ida Lange Siebert.
He and Elode Brown were married Friday, Dec. 29, 1944, in the parsonage at Tilsit by the Rev. H.J. Strickert.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape. He had been a member of its men's club over 50 years. He regularly attended voters' meetings at church. He had farmed on the family farm before working at Florsheim Shoe 39 years, retiring in March 1982. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his spouse, Elode Siebert; a son, Roger Siebert and wife, Denah, of Millersville; a daughter, Brenda Siebert of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a brother, Raymond Siebert and wife, Elsie, of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Ruth Volkerding of Jackson, Dena Kamp and husband Albert of Burfordville, Eugenie Wessel and husband Harold of Cape Girardeau, and Pearl Keller and husband Gerald of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape.
