Funeral for William E. Reiker of Cape Girardeau will be held at 3 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Revs. David Griesemer and Frank Bain will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the chapel after 1 p.m.

Reiker, 72, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, son of John B. and Lorene Steger Reiker. He and Carma A. Adkins were married Oct. 4, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.

Reiker was a bricklayer many years and worked at Marquette Cement Co. He was self-employed as a Tom's food salesman, retiring in 1989.

He was a member, deacon and usher at First General Baptist Church. Reiker was a life member of BAC Local 23 and of VFW Post 3838. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Reiker of Dexter; a daughter, Sue Reiker of St. Louis; a sister, Carol Potthoff of Dexter; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
