COBDEN, Ill. -- William Raymond Jackson, 85, of America, Ill., died Friday, March 8, 1996, at the City Care Center in Cobden.
He was born June 2, 1910 in America, son of the late Walter and Nettie Orm Jackson.
Jackson was a retired farmer and a member of the Christian Church at America, the Alexander-Pulaski County Farm Bureau and the Mounds Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8891. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Annetta Jackson of America; two sisters, Alice Schnaare of Collinsville and Edna Paul of Des Moines, Iowa, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Visitation will be at the Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Barkett Funeral Home with the Rev. F. Jerry Herring officiating. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds, with military honors by Mounds VFW Post 8891.
