William Poindexter

MARQUAND, Mo. -- William Eugene Poindexter, 59, of Marquand died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 17, 1947, in Mayfield, Ky., son of Robert and Helen Lois King Poindexter.

Poindexter was a shipping clerk.

Survivors include four children, Stacy, William Jr., Donna and Jeanine Poindexter, all of Waukegan, Ill.; a stepson, David Schmick of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters, Diane Blackwell of Yuma, Tenn., and Kay Willis of Cahokia, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Monday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Lloyd Ray Green officiating. Burial will be in Grassy Friendship Cemetery.
