SCOTT CITY -- Funeral mass for William Paul Gibbar of Scott City will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Pat Wissman will officiate. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 6407.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City from 8-10:45 a.m. today.

Gibbar, 57, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 30, 1937, at Commerce, son of Lemie and Gertrude Cecilia McClain Graff Gibbar. He and JoAnn Dodson were married June 29, 1963, at Jackson.

Gibbar was a towboat engineer with Metco of Cape Girardeau. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Angie Hahn and Jeanne Scheper of Scott City; three brothers, Kenneth Gibbar of Jackson, Ray Gibbar of Scott City, Leon Gibbar of McClure, Ill.; two sisters, Dolores Gibbar and Margaret Hagan of Cape Girardeau; four half brothers, George Gibbar of Crystal City, Lemie Gibbar of Scott City, Mike Gibbar of Commerce, Elvis Gibbar of Melrose Park, Ill.; a half sister, Mary Swan of Cape Girardeau, and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by three half brothers and a half sister.
