CHAFFEE -- William Otto Tanner, 87, of Robertsville died Jan. 2, 1998, at the Pacific Care Center in Pacific.

He was born Jan. 14, 1910, in Chaffee, son of William Oscar and Annie Baker Tanner.

He worked in management for Union Electric and had retired from the company.

On June 14, 1929, he married Jessie Marie Whitaker. She died Feb. 18, 1977.

He is survived by a daughter, Betty Scoggin of Pacific; a sister, Audrey Morgan of Chaffee; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A grandson preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 tonight at Bell Funeral Home in Pacific.

Visitation will also be held after 11 a.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Chaffee, with the Rev. William Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
