PUXICO, Mo. -- Funeral for William I. Oliver of Puxico will be held at 10 a.m. today at Life Chapel Assembly of God Church in Puxico. The Rev. Dan Montgomery will officiate. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery.
Oliver, 83, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Three Rivers Medical Center North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Dec. 23, 1916, at Puxico. He and Avis Wilfong were married July 18, 1938.
A retired brick mason, he worked on the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff; the Atomic Energy Plant in Joppa, Ill.; the current high school building and the Smith Building in Puxico.
He was a member of Life Chapel Church, and Brick Layers Mason Plasters International Union of America.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Wilma Vaughan of Edina, Mo., Patricia Morrison of Harrah, Okla., Joy Wicks of Arnold, Mo.; two sisters, Ivalene Buxton of O'Fallon, Mo., Eva Steffan of Puxico; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and two sisters.
