William Modglin

William Henry Modglin, 72, of Scott City died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 13, 1936, son of William Albert and Dora Bomank Modglin. He and Sheila Chiles were married July 22, 1956, in Cape Girardeau.

Modglin was a self-employed truck driver. He attended the United Methodist Church in Chaffee, Mo.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick Modglin of Marble Hill, Mo., Randy Modglin of Scott City; two daughters, Cindy Butler of Sand Springs, Okla., Sheila Lincoln of Jacksonville, N.C.; two brothers, Russel Modglin of Camdenton, Mo, Alvie Modglin of Scott City; three sisters, Lucille Halter of Chaffee, Gladys Woods of Burfordville, Dorothy Prior of New Jersey; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters and a grandchild.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Frank Husted officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
