JACKSON -- William "Bill" Lyle, 57, of Jackson, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 21, 1937, in Little Rock, Ark. He and Nancy Beatty were married Sept. 17, 1993.
Lyle was a graduate of Mabelvale High School in Little Rock, and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
He was employed more than 20 years by the Corps of Engineers, retiring because of ill health. He moved to Jackson in 1993 from Little Rock.
Lyle was a member of Geyer Springs United Methodist Church in Little Rock. He was also a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and participated in Chapter I in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Didi Lyle of Greenville, Miss., Deborah Spencer of Little Rock; a son, Lee Lyle of Little Rock; his mother, Ozell Lyle of Little Rock; a stepdaughter, Dawn Hogland of Memphis, Tenn.; three stepsons, Chuck Colton of Metairie, La.; Chris and Craig Crawford of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, John Lyle of Little Rock, Jimmy Lyle of Beebe, Ark., and two granddaughters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today, and at Griffin-Leggett Funeral Home in Little Rock from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Little Rock, with the Rev. Daniel Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery at Little Rock.
