SCOTT CITY -- William Lawrence O'Brien, 87, of Scott City, died Tuesday, July 13, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 11, 1906, at Fenton, son of James and Emma Buxton O'Brien. He and Anna Carolina Pfefferkorn were married Dec. 24, 1937.
O'Brien had been a mechanic at Ely Walker Co., and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Phillip O'Brien of Florissant, Larry O'Brien of Scott City, Patrick O'Brien of Benton; two daughters, Mary Crump and Theresa Zimmerman of Scott City; two sisters, Emma O'Brien and Laura Harrington of Valley Park; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren, and four great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church. The Rev. William Murphy will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home here after 3 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 7.
