MOUNDS, Ill. -- Funeral service for William Lowell Maxwell of Mounds will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Quintin Davis will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds after 6 p.m. today.
Maxwell, 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1994, at Daystar Care Center.
He was born March 8, 1918, in Mound City. He served in the U.S. Conservation Corps and Armed Services.
Maxwell had worked for Sears Roebuck Lumber Co., and then owned Peerless Cleaners here. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, David Maxwell of Boston, Mass.; a brother, Donald Maxwell of Sherman, Texas; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie.
