William Rudolph Jenkins, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 28, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to Fred and Annie Runnels Jenkins.
William was a veteran of the United States Army, receiving a Purple Heart and two Bronze Medals.
He was a member of St. James AME Church.
Survivors include a brother, Samuel Frank Jenkins of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Peggy (Mike) Primm and Charlotte (Terry) Wade of Cape Girardeau; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at St. James AME Church.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the church, with the pastor, the Rev. Rodney Moody, officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military rites.
